The electroluminescent EL backlight will illuminate the dial with an optically pleasing soft blue light, simply push button and the light will stay on for 3 seconds. Additionally, the ambient light powered Swiss super luminous hands & markers will glow continuously in all light conditions.

The Electroluminescent EL backlight feature will illuminate the dial, in no light conditions, with a touch of a button. The entire dial will illuminate with a soft blue light when the button is pushed, while still providing a high contrast viewing in normal light conditions. The ambient light powered Swiss super luminous hands & markers will glow continuously in lower light conditions, with no need to use the battery powered EL light. The Swiss super luminous system and time keeping will continue to function if EL battery is depleted. (Note: Timing, and EL light have independent batteries.)
