The Swing Speed Radar is a small, doppler radar velocity sensor that measures the swing speed of golfers and baseball/softball players.
Increased swing speed corresponds to increased ball distance.
Golfers can determine their optimum swing for the best distance, control and accuracy. Baseball/softball players can develop their optimum bat speed for distance, quickness, and bat control for consistent ball contact.
The Swing Speed Radar is positioned in a forward location about 8-10 inches directly away from the tee. Clubhead speed is measured in the vicinity of contact with the ball. In the baseball or softball application, the Swing Speed Radar can be hung on a batting cage, pop-up net, or fence, or tripod-mounted about five feet in front of the player ?swinging in air; or mounted similarly about five feet behind a batter swinging at a ball on a tee. The Swing Speed Radar is set at a height corresponding to the plane of the bat swing.
Powered by three AA-size batteries, the Swing Speed Radar transmission level is well within FCC requirements and prescribed safety levels. The Swing Speed Radar is microprocessor-controlled, and indicates calculated miles-per-hour club head or bat speeds, ranging from 20 to over 200 miles or Kilometer per hour, on a large easy-to-read liquid crystal display.
